10-06-2026: Trip - National Railway Museum York
A good turnout of Shed members enjoyed a trip to the National Railway Museum in York.
We set off to York from Burley railway station arriving at the Museum in time for a lunch break.
After lunch members split into their own small groups for a tour of the Great Hall, Station Hall and the North Shed. There were plenty of exhibits to see, including the Mallard, Evening Star, Stephenson's Rocket, a Japanese Bullet Train and many more. A very enjoyable day was had by all which included a final drink at the York Tap, at the York railway station.
We would like to say a big thank you to Shedder Clive who kindly collected Northern Rail ticket tokens from newspapers enabling members to travel to York and back for £12 each.
