02-07-2025: Beware - Fraud and Scams
A Shed member recently had a very 'near miss' of being fraudulently scammed - Luckily, before he actually transferred the money they were requesting, he found himself with a quiet moment to reflect on the otherwise relentless thoughts and pressure which the scammer(s) were putting him though - and that gave him a bit of time to reflect and speak with others, who helped him realise what he was caught up in !!
He felt that he was 'The Lucky One' and reported it to the Police. A short while after he was a little surprised to answer his door to two Community Police Officers, who were acting to support those in their area who had fallen victim to similar crimes. In the conversation and fact-finding which ensued the officers were keen to give an Awareness Talk about Fraud & Scams to his fellow Shedders - and that is why we gathered together on this Wednesday morning!
